2014 Broadwing (LIBRARY)

90 Points - CA Grapevine Review
An absolutely dynamite bottle of wine! Made with certified organic, mountain grown fruit on the Hawley Vineyard, this wine is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc. This wine was aged in French oak barrels for over 26 months, then bottle-aged for over 24 months. A large part of producing fine wines is allowing them to properly bottle age, for a good bit of magic is happening in the bottle during that time which renders the finished product incredibly smooth! This wine is no exception to the rule.
Decant a bottle and enjoy all the layers that it has to offer. This sophisticated, rich and balanced wine proudly displays the endless complexity we expected out of this mountain grown fruit. Drink now for a fruit-centric profile, or cellar age for 10+ years for a wiser narrative of hand-farmed terroir, seasoned cooperage, and generations of family winemaking.

On the nose, a savory bouquet of cedar and black cherry greets you, followed by herbs and cocoa. Flavors of brambly blackberry and cassis mingle with sweet tobacco, leather and clove.

"Hugely concentrated, it shows a rocky mineral character of ash, leather and white pepper, the fruit black and burly and the tannins structured." - Wine Enthusiast
"Medium-dark to dark purplish ruby; black cherry fruit aroma with hints of cedar, black olive, dried herbs, and cocoa; full body; dark cherry and dark berry fruit flavors with hints of eucalyptus, licorice, and cassis, and a relatively smooth, elegant mouthfeel; full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Nicely balanced and enjoyable to drink now, though should continue to benefit from bottle aging. Very highly recommended." - CA Grapevine Review
