We are proud to announce the latest release of our most coveted wine: the Broadwing, Estate Meritage. Our 2015 Broadwing is a Bordeaux-style blend made up of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc; all organically farmed on our family estate. This wine is carefully selected from the absolute best tasting barrels of the vintage, blended to reach the most complimentary flavor profile.
Broadwing is a falconry term for hawks and eagles with wingspans designed for soaring. We chose this special term appropriately to represent this regal combination of beloved Bordeaux varieties, grown from our highest perch overlooking Dry Creek Valley. Our 2015 vintage is an outstanding example of the terroir on our East-facing slopes, as well as the flavorful interplay between the varieties.
Heavenly flavors unfold with each sip; a distinctive experience we have come to expect from our Estate grown wines and enhanced by proper aging. In addition to over two years in the barrel, we commit to bottle-aging our Broadwing for about three years, which promotes flavor development and nuances of this mighty, Bordeaux-style blend. The 2015 vintage is tasting amazing now and will continue to soar for the next five to ten years. Enjoy!
Cabernet Sauvignon provides the backbone for this wine with flavors and aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, and chocolate with a long finish. The Merlot fills out the mid-palate with plum and tobacco. The Cabernet Franc lends ample aromatics including rose, clove and bramble fruit. More than 24 months of barrel aging softens the tannin and integrates the vanilla and floral components of the French oak.
